As a small family-run farm, we keep things simple and natural. Our bees glean nectar and pollen from local wildflowers, gardens, and farms, and we extract a portion of the fruit of their labor just a short walk away from the apiary. A bottle of our raw honey is the next best thing to dipping your finger right into the honeycomb.
From our bee yard, we can watch storms rolling in from the west, and many days we feel the wind whipping fiercely by, unimpeded where we are due to High Hill’s lofty elevation compared to lower lying areas in the surrounding river valley.
Reportedly, the town’s name sprung from it being the highest elevation along the old Wabash railway line that once ran between Saint Louis and Kansas City. Though the railway’s name has since changed, the track is still used today, and sometimes while working in the bee yard, we can hear the blaring horn of a train in the distance announcing its approach and diminishing as it passes.
The name of our honey roots us in our particular part of the country.
It’s where we’re planted.
Our bees work hard to turn sweet nectar into the pure golden honey that graces our tables. It’s our hope that you enjoy it as much as we, and our bees, do.
We’re always happy to talk about our bees and our honey. Reach out to us and we’ll be happy to help.
